Bank Julius Baer sells JBB to Lightyear Capital, a U.S. private equity firm, as Bank Julius Baer decided to re-focus on its core business of private banking

Re-branded in January to Kepler Equities (KE)

2005
Acquisition of KE by Landsbanki of Iceland
Onwards: development of a diversified financial services company including inter dealer brokerage, corporate finance, Debt & Derivatives, investment solutions

2008
MBO of Kepler Capital Markets (KCM) following the bankruptcy of Landsbanki

2011
October. KCM acquires the equity brokerage & research unit of Gruppo Banca Leonardo
October. Closing of capital raising whereby BlackFin Capital Partners, La Caisse des Dépôts, Crédit Mutuel Arkéa, Banca Leonardo take a 47% stake in KCM
November. Announcement of a strategic alliance with UniCredit whereby KCM becomes the research partner and distribution platform for UniCredit’s ECM business in Western Europe

June. Strategic alliance with UniCredit is extended to include the international distribution of UniCredit’s Central & Eastern European research and ECM business
17th July. KCM and Crédit Agricole CIB enter into exclusive negotiations regarding the acquisition by KCM of CA Cheuvreux
