Having rebuilt reserves during Q1 & Q2, the Foundation was able to embark upon an 8th round of disbursements in July 2023. In total, the Foundation donated € 500 464 to eighteen beneficiaries across eight European countries. We donated € 288 164 to the nine Anchor projects which are involved in the nurturing, protection and education of children and young people. We donated € 192 299 to eight Food Bank charities. There was a one-off donation of € 20 000 to the Institut du Cerveau in Paris to help fund research into treatments for ALS (motor neurone disease). We conducted a visit to the ALS research team at the Institut du Cerveau and were immensely impressed by their expertise and dedication.
In early September, the Foundation announced internally within Kepler Cheuvreux that it was looking for two new board members in order to rejuvenate the board. By the closing date of applications on 30th September, the board had received eight candidatures. A decision will be taken in Q4 on which board candidates to select.
Since its creation in March 2020 and its legal incorporation in June 2020, the Foundation has distributed a total of € 4.29 million to beneficiaries by end Q3 2023. The foundation’s current donation efforts are focused on medical and social care organisations dedicated to children (Necker-Enfants Malades children’s hospital), Het Vergeten Kind (the Forgotten Child) etc. and food banks.
The Foundation’s income comes from Kepler Cheuvreux itself via monthly donations, voluntary deductions from bonus for employees, voluntary payroll deductions, the annual Charity Trading Day, various ad hoc Kepler Cheuvreux client events where clients are invited to make a donation to the Foundation.
The Foundation is always open to donations. Kepler Cheuvreux has continued to contribute €50,000 per month since the Foundation was launched.
